Sunday the 10th, with only 4 days left
Hey, guess what? I figured out how to use greymatter... can't promise I'll keep em up as well as I keep this up... haahaa. mistake in identity, the greymatter version Sometime on Saturday, 4ish - and 5 days till take off
I'm feeling a little guilty, see... with my paperboy job, we gave christmas cards to the people we deliver to. Anyway, my pop has a route for extra cash. Well, I already make more money on my route than he does and I throw less papers, and I've made $200 in tips already, whereas he's only made $25.
Today, he got one christmas card from a customer and I got three. He got $5 and I got $60, but then I look at the route I throw. It's in the hills, with million dollar homes and condos. And, I always get my papers done by 5:30, or die trying. And, I get very few complaints, and even those people have tipped me $20.
I mean, $205 from 10 customers and my dad has had $25 from 5 people. Now, I hate to even open my cards around him.
Anyway... on a side note, this is the link to the city I'll be living in... New Brunswick. If you look up neighborhoods, I'll be living in the downtown area, on a lovely street called Landing Lane. It's cool, because there is the apartment building, then a park and then Rutgers University.
So pop just came in the room and said, you're all packed, and ready to hop on the plane tomorrow, right? I looked at him and said, I leave on Thursday. He looks confused and says, well what's all that stuff in the garage? To which I reply... it's yours. And he walks away. So, I should be the nice son and help out.
Talk with you soon.
For the hell of it I took the what work of art would I be. Got it from yas, I'll put the link in shortly... gotta go back and get it.
Well I almost died today, this morning I was was turning onto the street from the freeway, going pretty fast because I wanted to catch the light. Besides it was 3:50 in the morning, who'd expect something to be there. So, as I was turning, I thought I heard one of my papers slip out the window and I was looking back to see it, when I turned around my truck was headed directly into the back of a big rig parked at the curb. I swerved in time, but I was scared. But, then I remembered what I've been telling myself, if it's my time to go, it's my time. Obviously, someone wants me to get on with my life and agrees with me that moving to New Jersey will do that.
Now about this flight to NJ, earlier this week even that was scaring me. My flight leaves at 8am, is a direct flight to NJ and even worse its an American Airlines plane. I mean how close to being one of the planes that crashed into the WTC could I be. And on top of that fear, the tallest building in Los Angeles, where I would be sure to crash into, happens to be where my best friend works. You'll not believe the person who quashed my fears.
I was listening to National Public Radio, (you'll be glad to know yas, I no longer listen to country, well I am now, but oh well... ok, I'm a sucker for country. But, you know who I fell in love with last week? P!NK... Can you believe it? It blew me away. See, I did a thing for this music research company and they sent me a tape without the artists... at the end of the survey, they asked me what I thought about the tape and I responded that I was most suprised that I would like Pink. Ok, I'm rambling again, hunh?)
Anyway there was this interview with Patti LaBelle, regarding her new book Patti's Pearls. Ok, looking at the book I might not buy it, but she said that even though fear is good, she never let it stop her from doing anything.
Then it dawned on me... I've been in that boat. Fear was stopping me from doing so many things. It was keeping me in this room, playing those games, not writing, not believing in myself, stopping the flow of ideas into my head, not trying anything. And... I need to fly the nest of security that is my parents house, and get out there and do something.
WOW... is that the most ramble talk I've done in forever? And, I actually came up with a story idea, and part of me so wants to work on something for the blackglass anthology, although I am sure, I have missed any and all deadlines. See that's what fear does. I have so many friends who have surpassed their fears and are still fighting for survival, and here I am this fat guy who really has nothing holding him back, sitting and waiting for someone to just do everything for him.
ok, now for the work of art I would be...this is pretty funny, because a few years back they said that the Mona Lisa was in fact a man and not a woman, so there you go, I am a work of old Drag art.
If I were a work of art, I would be Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. I am extremely popular and widely known. Although unassuming and unpretentious, my enigmatic smile has charmed millions. I am a mystery, able to be appreciated from afar, but ultimately unknowable and thus intriguing. Which work of art would you be? The Art Test
hey yas... the date is acurate now.
